We’ve developed a new report on a range of key CBD metrics, now available on our CBD Program reporting webpage.
You can see the new selection of graphs/visuals below the existing PowerBI data analytics report. The new report provides trends and data on:
- National and state based commercial building energy use since 2011, in MJ per rated square metre.
- Star rating progress for commercial buildings since 2011 (by area weighting and certificate count).
- State based average star ratings since 2011
- Nominal Lighting Power Density changes in Tenancy Lighting Assessments (TLA’s).
- TLA certificate counts per year
Some key report highlights include:
- Average consumption per square metre has decreased by 41% from 2011 to 2025.
- Based on Net Lettable Area (NLA), average NABERS Energy star ratings have increased for each state since 2011.
- In 2025, over 52% of Building Energy Efficiency Certificates were issued for buildings rated as 5 star and above. As a comparison, in 2015 only 30% of BEECs were for 5 star or above buildings!
